Daddy’s home and is recovering, Deo Gratias!
In the meantime, DiDi (remember, Mandarin Chinese for “younger brother”) went shopping at Publix. He asked me if I wanted anything in particular, and I requested Morning Star corn dogs and anything else Morning Star.
He elected to get the black bean burgers, which are actually really good. However, this also means that Gigi will be eating them, too.
I made two of the corn dogs last night, and they’re as good as ever; they taste identical to a real-meat corn dog, which is amazing to me. Most fake meat products have some kind of difference in flavor where you can tell that something’s not the same as animal, but the corn dogs are identical.
They’re so good that I can eat them without dipping them in ketchup or mustard or any kind of sauce, which is an anomaly for me. Back in my meat-eating days, I almost always had to put sauce of some kind on the meat to eat it.
Anyway, there are obviously dietary changes coming around to the Hickory Shade Estate, with the one I remember off the top of my head being a reduction in sodium used in food. We’re switching over to Mrs. Dash. Yay! She’s tasty flavor everywhere, woohoo!
Well, I hope everyone’s Easter went well. We had High Mass complete with incense and the return of the Sanctus Bells, along with flowers all over the altar. Frankincense smells wonderful! I wish they had used more, but we have such a small building that it would’ve probably smoked us out.
Also, I ate most of the Seven-Layer Salad that Gigi made for Easter. I told her that she should fuse the Seven-Layer Salad with the recipe for cornbread salad to make a Nine-Layer Salad. The recipe will be posted shortly.
